Safari preferences
Start Safari
- Close all Safari windows (obviously not shown here)
- Click the Safari menu
- Click Preferences...
Develop menu
The Develop menu appears in Safari. To delete only the items in cache:
- Click Empty Caches
Open a new Safari window and see if the problem is fixed.
Brute force: History
See if clearing only the cache works. Clear History... is a scorched Earth approach to fixing browsing issues.
- Click History menu
- Click Clear History
Brute force: History
- Start with the least amount of time: "the last hour"
Open a new browser window. See if that fixed the problem.
- Keep working down the list. Keep closing and reopening a new window. Quit and reopen Safari.
