13.2. Excel: Save as a .csv (Comma Separated Values) file
Screenshots are created from Excel 2016 for Mac. Your version of Excel should be similar.
1. Your Excel (.xlsx) spreadsheet
- Click File
- Click Save As
2. Change the file format
There are two different csv formats shown below. I have highlighted one for this document. If this doesn't work, try CSV UTF-8 (or any others including txt formats).
- Click the pop up menu following the text, "File Format:". The pop up menu is already open.
- Click the file format conversion option
- Click Save
